dated May 31, 1882 to Joaquín Terrazas from his son, Ygnacio Terrazas, concerning the capture of the Apache leader, Juh,and
a 15-page manuscript biography of Joaquín Terrazas, written by Ygnacio sometime after 1898, which includes an account of Terrazas'
famed encounter with the Apache leader Victorio. Also includes a typescript letter, bearing the secretarial signature of Porfirio
Diáz, concerning the formation of a military club.

Colonel Joaquin Terrazas Quezada (1829-1901) was best known for leading the Chihuahua militia in its efforts to suppress Apache
Indian raiders. In 1880, he and his troops surrounded the band of the Apache leader Victorio, killing all but the women and
children.
